5k to Couch App

I'm always giving out my fitness tips, such as the KFC Popcorn Chicken and Donut Diet, so I've decided to create my own app "5k to Couch." For those sick of finding the motivational to work out everyday, and decide to catch up on all their favorite TV series. Look for it soon!

Pool Water Wallpaper

Here is a water background texture I color-corrected and modified to get to the consistency of pool water for a Price Menu Board. The original file is very large.

Capitalizing on ClipArt

Sometimes a client's time and budget isn't enough to start creating everything from scratch, so ClipArt jumps into the equation per request. I'd much rather create an original design. Here is an example of the same flower being used for two separate jobs. Crunching the numbers/sacrificing the design.

Ice Cream Cone Clip Art

Ice Cream Cone Clip Art

It seems like I create ClipArt-like imagery like this once a day for a client, so I thought I'd share with the public. I'm sure it'll get some hits in the image search category.

Flying Pig (Journal)

Flying Pig (Journal)
11.25.11

I'm not exactly out of shape, or at least I thought I wasn't. I try to go jogging every day even if it's only for a few miles. It was a beautiful day today, so as I started jogging I was thinking up grand ideas about training for the Flying Pig Marathon. I kept saying it starts today.

Twelve miles later (not even half a marathon) and I'm back home. Flying Pig? Try crippled pig on his way to the chopping block. The pig's knees, ankles and nipples hurt. Unless I plan on flying this race, I don't know if I have the time to dedicate to such endeavors.

I'll probably go back to running shorter distances tomorrow. I guess the good news is if you read this blog you won't have to read about every mile I run, every meal I eat, and every pound I lose as I train for a marathon.

Everything and anything has been carved into pumpkins. Very cool, but have become pretty commonplace. Here's a lazy ClipArt rendition.

New Light Bulbs

Based upon The Sketchpad's 04/02/11 article:

New Light Bulbs
It's happening...

Light Bulb

Repost:

I've been thinking...

Now that CFLs are starting to phase out the incandescent light bulb, what is going to become of some of the most iconic and overused pieces of clipart imagery? Artists will now have to make do with reshaping the outer spirals of the fluorescents into new creative messages , instead of relying on the easy-to-manipulate incandescent inner filament coils. The thinking genius will have to change a bit too, but this is no thinking genius...

Non-Design Tip of The Day :) ClipArt

 YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CLIPART!!!!!!!!!!! SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since it is my pure intention to have ClipArt take over the design world, here is my contribution. Most people think they need to subscribe to a stock ClipArt site or have Microsoft Word, but you can just go to their website to collect some images to paste all over your company flyers!!!

Some of the illustrations really aren't that bad, they were done by professional illustrators, but aren't streamlined. ClipArt is just so widely used it's not good for brand identity.
