Mr. Potato Head Wall
Mr. Potato Head Vector
By creating Mr. Potato Head as a vector; I am able to print each component separately as a removable wall graphic, so you can piece together your own creation.

Out of Context
Out of Context
This project took me an hour to complete. If you knew what these dots were for you would understand, but as is it doesn't make sense and seems like a complete waste of time. I like it that way.
Sometimes there's a beauty about mystery. In the age of social media it seems we have lost some of this beauty.

New Light Bulbs
Based upon The Sketchpad's 04/02/11 article:
New Light Bulbs
It's happening...
Repost:
I've been thinking...
Now that CFLs are starting to phase out the incandescent light bulb, what is going to become of some of the most iconic and overused pieces of clipart imagery? Artists will now have to make do with reshaping the outer spirals of the fluorescents into new creative messages , instead of relying on the easy-to-manipulate incandescent inner filament coils. The thinking genius will have to change a bit too, but this is no thinking genius...

MacGyver Versus Walker
What would happen if Walker, Texas Ranger had to track down and capture MacGyver? Damn, that would make a good movie. The Battle of the Mullets. Martial arts versus paper clips and rubber bands.

| Renenactment: Rumpelstiltskin taped to wall. wdsiemerii |

When I was in high school art class, I decided to tape someone to the wall with masking tape.
Performance/Live/Action Art, right?!?
The teacher didn't seem to think so. I was scolded pretty harshly; not for taping someone to the wall, but because I wasted art supplies--masking tape.
I can't say taping a dozen people to the gallery wall in different positions for my senior thesis didn't cross my mind.

Phone Number Letters
A lot of companies with 1-800 numbers try to come up with catchy ways for their callers to remember their phone numbers, such as 1-800-SKTCHPD. But if you don't give me the numbers I can't call you because my cell phone doesn't work like that. The letters "K, T, H & P" don't even have related numbers on my numerical touchpad.

Student Wine Bottles
Designs We've Seen (a lot) 05/04/11
Wine Bottles
I look at a lot of design portfolios for inspiration. One of the projects/designs I come across consistently is the creation of a wine bottle brand/label. I'm sure most of the presented works are from a school project and not an actual design job. I created a wine bottle when I was in school. I vaguely remember it, but it was crap. I believe the only actual wine company I have done some design for is Valley Vineyards, but not the bottle.
So, I started a rough sketch of this sketchpad wine bottle. Grid paper label, a hokey giant eraser cork with aluminum foil wrap, and a pencil with the words "the sketchpad" encased in a plastic tube attached to the side. My hope would be for people to pick up the wine bottle and possibly write additions to their shopping list/reminders on the blank grid paper. If they decide to put the wine bottle back, their marks would be part of the design. If they steal the pencil they still have a reminder it was from the sketchpad.
I'd give myself a C- for something I whipped up in 30 minutes, so I'm passing.
