Out of the Office Auto-Response

So many times I see designs compromised by incorrectly using different types of black that lead to ghosting. Have you ever printed out a file and noticed the background black is not the same level as your image's black? That's because their CMYK (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black) make-ups are probably different. When available, use an eyedropper tool to match background blacks with image blacks. I put together this graphic quickly to sort of show what I'm babbling about...

Happy Little Clouds

Bob Ross Remixed | Happy Little Clouds | PBS Digital Studios

Love Bob Ross. Forgot to post this earlier, but another song by Symphony of Science. Mr. Rogers' Garden of Your Mind is a catchier song in my opinion.

Inner Beauty

A single rose on top of my grave is the most beautiful thing my life every gave. wdsiemer ii

Facebook Posts I've Seen (a lot)

Click "Like" if you STILL think she's beautiful. I know people have good intentions, but this only seems to bring attention to the fact something is wrong or flawed about a person. I would hope nobody would react negatively, but I know this isn't the case because people are bullied every day. In a perfect world, appearance would not be a topic of conversation.

I believe the old adage of "inner beauty" remains true. In the end, we are all stripped of our flesh, and leave behind the memory of the type of person we were. "Like" this is if you agree. :)

Pontiac Aztek Driving School

Thinking of starting a student driving school. The catch: Instead of enticing teens with the opportunity to drive Mustangs and Camaros, I'll have an entire fleet of Pontiac Aztecs. Interested?

Fire-Breathing Dragon

Saw this billboard along the highway. No comment on the religious aspect, but it must be nice to invent a version of history for profit. A traditional museum couldn't get away with presenting a fire-breathing dinosaur as reality. It's not extinct, but living in the eternal flames of hell.

I have to hand it to the designers at the Creation Museum--they do some good work. The graphic is reminiscent of vintage sideshow and circus promotions. Enough said.

Amelia Earhart's Birthday

I haven't been posting Google Doodles any more because you can find them archived on thousands of websites with better descriptions than I can provide. However, the mystery behind Amelia's disappearance had interested me since I was a kid (along with, among other things, the universe/planets, Titanic, oceans, art, Pangaea, Antarctica, Michael Jackson, dinosaurs, etc.)

Mickey Mouse Brand

I've been watching a lot of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse lately. I actually enjoy it because I analyze the three-dimensional graphics. Then, I started to think of the Disney and Mickey Mouse brand, and thought how cool is it that you can recognize the Mickey brand by THREE CIRCLES...

5k to Couch App

I'm always giving out my fitness tips, such as the KFC Popcorn Chicken and Donut Diet, so I've decided to create my own app "5k to Couch." For those sick of finding the motivational to work out everyday, and decide to catch up on all their favorite TV series. Look for it soon!

Big Pig Gig

This talented artist stopped by our shop. I thought I would share her hard work...

From Kings Local...

Zoe’s pig was spotted on the corner of Vine and 12th downtown!
KHS Senior Zoe Rodriguez designed and decorated a pig for ArtWorks Big Pig Gig this year!

Rodriguez’s hog, sponsored by the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, is called “It’s a Pig World” and features postage stamps from all around the world. She was inspired by the World Choir Games when creating her theme.

A customized panel I made exclusively for FASTSIGNS. Sorry the photo is so bad... I'll revisit this later.

50,000 Unique Visitors - For a personal design blog that rants and rambles about personal creative ideas, not a bad number. Thanks for being a visitor! wdsiemer ii

I just bought me an old typewriter, so I can design stuff like this... I really want to execute the design on an actual vintage typewriter that punches the ink into the paper, and none of this Grunge/American Typewriter font stuff...
I hope so too...

Colors In Corporate Branding And Design

Colors In Corporate Branding And Design
By Steven Snell

Color is a major consideration in any Web design. Whether for an individual, small company, or major corporation, color scheme is one of the most significant factors in the overall look and appearance of a website. In some cases, the designer may have the sole discretion in making color choices, but many times a color scheme has already been established and needs to be followed. In situations where a company already has a strong brand, color usage for the website can either build or take away from this.

Speaking of Chuck E Cheese Pizza... These were the times as a kid you could eat pizza and watch a show that would scare you half shitless...

The Art of Logo Design

Not a bad little piece, but with so many beautiful and iconic logos, how about the art of Title Screens? This type and color is killing me compared to the simplicity and cleanliness of the rest of the production.

New Chuck E Cheese Mascot

At least with the old mascot you could see and avoid his elephant-sized droppings. Now you are going to have to watch out for Chuck E Cheese's new pizza topping, or droppings...

FASTSIGNS new storefront graphics and branding. Installed this project today in 100 degree heat. I have to say I'm a little hot. Still need to remove and make a few edits to the graphics on the left side...
