New Farmers Logo Vector

Sometimes I like to recreate logos from scratch to get a feel for the make-up and details of a logo. Farmers Insurance released this a short while ago. I enjoy discovering the little nuances such as the amount of degrees in the rotation of the rays.

This recreation should in no way be used in lieu of the actual logo (it ruins the purpose of branding).

Home Real Estate Vector Logos

Designers sick of always recreating/finding vector formats for real estate... Here is a vector collection of Home Real Estate logos: Vector Realtor logo, Cincinnati's HBA (Home Builders Asscociation) logo, Equal Housing Opportunity logo, Handicap logo (with a large head?).

Pool Water Wallpaper

Here is a water background texture I color-corrected and modified to get to the consistency of pool water for a Price Menu Board. The original file is very large.

Frisch's Founders Day

Yesterday was Frisch's Founders Day. I so meant to do this, but totally forgot until I saw photos on Facebook yesterday. If you visited one of the area Frisch’s dressed as Big Boy Thursday, you received a free Big Boy Sandwich. Well done.

Minnie Mouse Vector

There's a song featured on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for Minnie's Bow-tique. It's been stuck in my head the last couple of days. Free vectors attract viewers, so hopefully you will stay to look at other features on the site. Wishful thinking :) Enjoy!

Designs We've Seen (a lot) Series

I posted a Designs We've Seen (a lot) Series a while back about the overuse of certain fonts; specifically, Comics Sans (for Day Cares/Preschools) and Papyrus (Salons and Spas). (Comic Sans and Papyrus)

I was recently working on some menu boards for a Greek restaurant. We used beautiful high-resolution stock photography on floating frosted glass with silver studs (which goes well with the restaurant's architecture), but the client is set on using the font Adonais. I understand Adonais gets the point across, but it downgrades the class of the restaurant, and is so cliched.

Seen it all before. wdsiemer ii

So, I'm adding Adonais-type fonts for Greek Restaurants to the list... Next to be added to the list? Scripts (e.g. Brush Script/Monotype Corsiva/Edwardian.

Go Crazy!

Scanned in this rag that I had been using to clean a CMYK solvent printer. No reason. The nice thing about textures is there is no limit to on how to use them...

It seems like I create ClipArt-like imagery like this once a day for a client, so I thought I'd share with the public. I'm sure it'll get some hits in the image search category.

William D. SIEMER II

The NAME of a font doesn't really matter for the design. However, recently I found a situation kind of funny when a designer sent me a logo she created for a local school district in Cincinnati and the font was named "PORN STAR ACADEMY" in association with Pornstar Clothing. What is going on at this school?

Not really sure why I created these Mr. Potato Head Illustrator vectors. I guess I was inspired after illustrating a vector ping pong ball the other day. It is what it is.
