Consecutively Visiting Nine Hamilton County Parks Equates to a Week Vacation

For a total of ten dollars for admission and some gas money I was able to take an active, yet peaceful week long Cincinnati vacation while working a full-time job during the day. What began as a motivational workout routine and excuse to visit seven Hamilton County Parks in seven days became an initiative to get people to visit and support our beautiful park system. I became so obsessed in seeing what each park had to offer that I ended up visiting nine parks in seven days, and was never disappointed.

I had been working two jobs for around 70 hours Monday-Friday. This meant great money, but no life. So, the first week I was free from my evening job, I decided celebrating my freedom from the indoors by spending as much time as I could with nature. There was only one place, or in this case places, that I could think of--The Hamilton County Park District. After all, their slogan is "It's Great Outdoors!"

Photo Fun Club
The Photo Fun Club will be exhibiting with the Hamilton County Park District for the first time at Sharon Centre, May 9 through June 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. The 28 members of the club have a vast amount of experience and pride themselves with excellence in the field of photography.

The show can be viewed in the Wildlife Viewing Room and the auditorium. Members and adult guests are welcome. Their number one goal is to have fun, shoot pictures, share and enjoy photography.

I'm obsessed with the Hamilton County Park System. I frequently take dog walks, hikes, bike rides, photographs, and play Frisbee golf. But, more on my love of nature later...

This weekend I was taking my dogs, a white chihuahua and black chia-poo, a walk through the woods. The chihuahua became entangled on an old root and his collar slipped off. Reaching for it, I noticed it created the perfect editorial photo for lost dogs. Well, except the dog doesn't have it's tag anymore, so it's kind of a lost cause. Let's not look into the particulars! Anyways, I thought it was cool, so I snapped a shot of it. I always thought stuff like this had to be thought out and staged, but not bad for chance...
