Cincinnati Design

Cincinnati Design

When I tell people I'm a Graphic Designer, one of the more immediate questions is, "Hmmm, I guess there's probably not a lot of job opportunities in Cincinnati are there?" I tell them they would be surprised. While we don't have the large market of places like New York, California and foreign agencies, Cincinnati is a huge player in the design field.

Procter & Gamble's roots in Cincinnati has to do with a large part of design firms' initial success in the Queen City. Now that the foundation has been built, Cincinnati design has continued to grow with major companies all over the globe. Not to mention, all the internal graphic design departments of local companies.

As I mentioned in my previous blog, Cincinnati is very rich in history & design, and we are starting to show it through improvements in the city's image. Cincinnati has an AIGA chapter, great design colleges, numerous design firms, "First Friday" gallery showings by local artists, and the Cincinnati / Contemporary Art Museum--all while maintining the friendly, Midwest persona.

In an email I sent off a few months ago to a prospective employee, I listed these following design firms in Cincinnati* (with the current additions of former colleague's companies)
